Coronavirus Diaries Day 5 - Ode to the Gambler
First a solemn rest in piece to Kenny Rogers. Every time I step up to a poker table, I'll always think of "The Gambler." "Every hand's a winner, and every hand's a loser and the best you can hope for, is to die in your sleep."
On the Fantasy Front, a bittersweet week for the Eagles. We release Malcolm Jenkins and he signs with the Saints (don't they have enough talent?) and Nelson Agholor signs with the Raiders. Ryan Weiss said it best. "Nelson Agholor has one of the most difficult legacies to explain in Philly. He spent 5 years with the Eagles. 4 of those he was one of the biggest headaches ever. But that one year it all came together he made it all worth it. Thank you Nelly!"
On the Golf Front I finally got the practice net up and the Sherman Hybrid and Iron Teaching Studio is open for business.
No advertising budget necessary, everytime someone hits a bad shot, more than likely you'll hear the acronym and think of us!
As for the "State of the Swing," it could use some work. According to my Zepp swing analyzer, my tempo is terrible and swing has gotten a little steep. Video analysis to follow. Tournament around the corner but at least I'm hitting balls again!
Special Local restaurant shout out to The Corner Q. Great Filipino restaurant right here in Lorton. Here's hope and a prayer they can ride out the storm. Until then stopping by every few days to get some lumpia, barbecue, and a little longanisa does the heart good.
Speaking of restaurants. My two cents: It seems like such a long time ago, but remember the government shutdown? My eternal thanks to those restaurants (Jose Andres, &Pizza, Sweetgreen) who stepped up to feed all of the furloughed government workers. They gave in our time of need. Now that they are in need, I'm taking a portion of my stimulus money (assuming I fall in the right tax bracket) and buying some gift cards (and a few pizzas, salads and tapas). We're all in this together, lets keep each other going!
Lastly, managed to sneak in a quick HIIT workout and felt great (when I stopped). Now its time to get some projects done around the house and play with the son.
Stay safe everyone!
